Pieces of Eight  Master Crafted Oak Bark Tanned Leather Belt

Discover Pieces of Eight, the pinnacle of Nearly Dead Leather Workshop craftsmanship. Taking nearly three full days to create by hand, this belt represents the height of traditional leatherworking skill and patience. Every stitch, cut, and finish is shaped with intention a true investment in artistry.

Each belt is hand-stitched, fitted with hand-made solid brass fittings, and carefully embossed with the Nearly Dead logo. It is then hand-dyed and polished multiple times to reveal the deep, natural beauty of the hide. This intensive finishing process enhances every nuance of the leather, celebrating the rustic, living character that defines our work.

Crafted from 12/13oz English undyed full-grain oak bark tanned bridle butt leather, sourced from Britain’s last remaining oak bark tannery, Pieces of Eight is a belt of exceptional calibre. Measuring approximately 1.5 inches wide, it showcases leather slow-tanned for over 12 months, absorbing the warm, earthy tones of the oak bark.

As it ages, this  leather will darken gradually, developing a rich, nuanced patina  a reflection of the owner’s life and experiences. No two belts will ever age the same, making each Pieces of Eight belt entirely unique.

This is more than a belt  it is a statement of luxury, tradition, and enduring craftsmanship. A piece built to last a lifetime and designed to grow more beautiful with age.
